Watchdog drafts methodology of research of web audience, data

MOSCOW, Aug 19 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service has worked out a draft methodology to research the volume of the audience and data of different Internet resources, according to a draft ruling released on Thursday on the portal of legal documents.

The research is to be done on the base of the data received as a result of processing of information via computer programs to study the audience, the data provided by owners of information resources, and the aggregate of data accumulated upon the results of researches of the audience held by the authorized entity.

The researches cover Russians older than 12, who live in the federal regions, Moscow and St. Petersburg. The studies are conducted no less than twice a year by the authorized entity among at least 9,000 randomly chosen people.

President Vladimir Putin signed in July a law on a single measurer of the audience of Internet resources.
